2019: A Year in Review

Remember all those New Year’s resolutions you gave up on in February? Going running in the morning? Saving all your change? Getting that promotion or better grades? Instead of feeling depressed about abandoning your resolutions, try a different tactic. Do a year-end review where you look back at 2019 and note the highlights, lowlights, and lessons you learned throughout the year. You’ll notice that you accomplished so much more than you thought you did.

 By doing a year-end review, instead of focusing on things that overwhelm you, you can focus on things that bring you joy or lessons you learned along the way. Didn’t commit to running two miles every morning? Now you know that specific exercise isn’t for you. This year, if you do want a fitness goal, put less pressure on yourself and learn from last year’s lesson. Try to find something you really enjoy, like biking or yoga. Make your goals achievable by starting out slow (exercising 2-3 times per week instead of every day).
