March 3rd, 2020 is World Hearing Day. We’re here to say WE HEAR YOU! Here at Eosera, we’re for all ears, including those with hearing loss. We think hearing loss is nothing to be ashamed of; in fact, we like to celebrate the many differences there are in people.
In case you’re curious, World Hearing Day came about to bring awareness to hearing loss conditions and for the prevention of deafness.
There are three different types of hearing loss, including sensorineural, conductive, and mixed hearing loss. These hearing loss types can occur bilaterally (in both ears) and unilaterally (in one ear).
There’s also a disorder called auditory processing disorder, wherein the connection between the brain and the ears is disrupted and an individual cannot process what they are hearing the same way someone with typical hearing can.
March 3rd is a day to both bring awareness to hearing loss and celebrate what makes someone different and unique. Like we said, we’re for all ears.
Happy World Hearing Day!
